MEET THE TEAM

Wendy DeMent
Executive Director

Jason Kitson
Program Director
Wendy first got involved with The Vault in 2017 as a volunteer on the fundraising committee, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the cause. She officially joined the staff in 2019 and has since taken on a variety of leadership roles, including bookkeeper, administrative assistant, and director of marketing and finance. Wendy is married with four kids, a dog, and a very photogenic cat. When she’s not at The Vault, you’ll likely find her planning her next beach getaway or diving into a DIY home project inspired by HGTV. Her lifelong dream is to one day be welcomed into a room with a confetti cannon.
Jason was one of the first supporters of The Vault way back in 2016 when The Vault was just getting started. He joined our staff in the summer of 2021 alongside his wife, McKenna. What a full circle moment! When Jason isn't planning our awesome programs, he likes to spend his time watching a good movie (Marvel all the way), spending time with his family and friends, or playing outside with his two dogs. He's also our chess expert. Challenge him at a game at your own risk.

Dillon Barnard
Marketing and Program Coordinator
Dillon has been involved with The Vault for the past two years as a mentor and is famous for being our tour guide for our Scare Downstairs. He has been married to Ashley since 2014, and they have four beautiful daughters. When he’s not at The Vault, Dillon volunteers as the Assistant Cub Master for the local Cub Scouts pack 4142. His hobbies include cooking, board games, and going to the movies. We are excited to have him on board as our Marketing and Program Coordinator.

Daisy
Director of Cuddles and Snuggles
Daisy, the Vault’s comfort dog, joined our team in April 2021. At six weeks old, she began training with trainer David Dodd and then with Tammy Wilson, our Executive Director, who became her handler and “mom.” She is part of PawPrint Ministries and received her Comfort Dog Certification in January 2023.Daisy is a sweet, energetic pup who brings joy and smiles to our Vault students. She has also been a source of comfort for students having a bad day. In addition to her presence during Hangouts, she is part of our Student Dog Handler’s Program, where, each year, two students learn dog-handling skills and can assist Tammy by taking Daisy potty, feeding her, and ensuring she’s behaving! Daisy’s favorite activity is playing fetch with her ball; she would play for hours if she could! She has been a fun, furry addition to The Vault!
